A long time ago… well, not that long ago… in a galaxy not so far away but somewhere in the Benelux, a small fellowship of Pro/ENGINEER wizards gathered. It was the spring of 1995 when the organisation that would one day be known as PTC/USER Benelux came to life. Back then, it carried the noble name “Stichting Pro/ENGINEER Gebruikersgroep Nederland.”
What started as a small group of brave Pro/ENGINEER enthusiasts quickly grew into a genuine community of engineering adventurers. Armed with parametric modelling skills, questionable coffee and the eternal hope that their assemblies would regenerate without errors, they set out to share knowledge, inspire each other and help fellow users survive the everyday battles of design and data management.
As the years went by, the PTC universe evolved. Pro/ENGINEER became Creo, PLM took on an ever more central role and PTC experts across the Benelux continued to support the community with knowledge, tools and hands-on sessions. The user group embraced every transformation and gradually grew into the PTC/USER Benelux family we know today.
Then came the Covid era. In-person events suddenly became impossible, and the community drifted into something that felt suspiciously like hyperspace standby mode. But once the storm settled, a few courageous long-time board members joined forces with fresh new faces. Together they relaunched the event, and the comeback turned out stronger, bigger and more energetic than anyone expected.
Today, PTC/USER Benelux continues to grow, bringing together engineers, partners, PTC specialists and curious visitors from Belgium, the Netherlands, Europe and sometimes even the rest of the world. The annual gathering has become the place where CAD and PLM wizards meet, exchange ideas, complain about constraints, laugh at unexpected regeneration warnings and celebrate new possibilities. In short, it is where the Benelux engineering galaxy comes together.
